Budweiser has partnered with Good Loop and SolarAid to produce an advert which does good. For every ad view Budweiser will donate one solar light to a home in a developing community, in partnership with SolarAid.
SolarAid’s vision is of a world where everyone has access to clean, renewable, energy. Yet today, 578 million people in sub-Saharan Africa lack access to electricity. The lack of lightmeans the day is being cut short for families across the continent at around 6pm. Working, studying, or socialising after sunset becomes impossible, and many rely on expensive, toxic and dangerous lighting sources such as candles and kerosene lamps for a little bit of light.
SolarAid’s mission is to light up every home, school and clinic in Africa by 2030, using safe, clean, solar power.
No one should be left in the dark. Together, we can End the Darkness.
“Budweiser is already brewed using electricity generated from solar panels. We wanted to take this one step further by helping to provide solar powered lights to those in need, enabling them to have a brighter future and showing our commitment to doing good for the planet” – Georgia Doe, Budweiser Senior Brand Manager
"In a time of climate chaos, where urgent action is needed, we are delighted to be partnering with Budweiser to bring clean, safe, solar light and power to homes and communities in Africa, where over 578 million people live without access to electricity." – John Keane, CEO, SolarAid
